The Must Haves from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.001

I’m sure you don’t live under a rock so you are fully aware that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is currently in full swing. But now that you’ve had some time to look around, see what’s available, and think about what you may want – I thought I would highlight a few of my personal sale favorites!

For example, this leather jacket was a no-brainer. I’ve been wanting a tan leather jacket for a few years now and could never find the right one. Well ladies, my search is over! I’m also a huge fan of oversized sweaters and this one I could not resist.

Let me just say that I am in no way ready for summer to be over but I have to admit, this sale has gotten me pretty excited about cooler weather! Bring on the tailgates!

xx, thanks for stopping by!

Summer Colors

IMG_6724Dress : Everly (also in blue/green) Shoes: Tory Burch sold out (loving this similar pair) Earrings: Nordstrom Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Watch: Michele Necklace: Michael Kors Lips: YSL Pink in Devotion

Last week I mentioned how I have a huge weakness for the little white dress for summer, but my love for bold prints and bright color comes in close second. There really is no better time than summer to make a statement, especially one that includes these fun pom-pom earrings! I found this dress at Nordstrom for under $50 (I know, major score!) and could definitely see myself going back to get it in another color. It’s lightweight and perfect for any summer BBQ or outdoor concert!

If I could wear a dress every day, I would. In reality, I pretty much do. They’re just too easy to slip on and instantly look put-together.

The first time I saw this Free People dress at Nordstrom it was love at first sight. I didn’t purchase it right away, but that fact that I kept thinking about it was a sign. There’s just too much to love. As you know, I’m obsessed with white. I also adore the intricate gold details that sets it apart from the other white dresses I already own. Last but not least, it has the ultimate detail that easily made it a done deal: it’s twirl worthy.

Patio Living

Outdoor Patio Inspiration.001

My sister and I absolutely love our new place. Together, we’ve combined our belongings to make ourselves feel right at home. The only area of the house that still needs some improvement is the backyard. With plenty of room to work with, we have both a deck and small yard that need a little lot of TLC. My goal for the rest of the summer is to make a cozy patio area where we can relax and entertain. One thing I know for sure, a fire pit will be included!

Ever since I moved into my new place, I have been on the search for the perfect piece to display my perfumes and accessories. It wasn’t until I found this colorful floral tray from Biscuit Home that I fell in love! It’s just the pop of color I needed for my rather neutral blue & white room!

 Short hair don’t care!

That’s my new motto! Yesterday I went in for a routine cut and decided to make a spontaneous decision to go short. Really short (at least for me!). I’m still trying to get used to the change, but sometimes change is good!

Rise and Shine

Long time no see! First off, I’d like to apologize for my absence over here on the blog. I feel incredibly guilty any day I don’t get a post up. So you can only imagine how I felt about a whole week of being MIA. Major anxiety. This morning I was doing some thinking and decided I should probably explain- with a job that requires travel, as well as balancing a long-distance relationship, I can’t always find the time to do everything I want. Finding the perfect balance between work, play, and the blog is a constant battle that I’m still trying to figure out. I know one day, when things settle down, I will find the right recipe to make it all work. But for now, I am doing my best!

That all being said, you definitely have to put things in perspective and really step back and focus on what’s important. When a company like the Akola Project reaches out and tells you about their amazing story, you are quickly brought back to reality. If you haven’t heard of the Akola Project, they are a global accessory brand that is made by and fully benefits marginalized woman. Their story started in Uganda and has now made its way back to our very own Dallas, TX. Brittany, the founder of the Akola Project (also an SMU alum!), is starting local group here in Dallas that will train and employ sexually trafficked women to help with the finishing touches on their products made in Uganda.

I’ll be honest, I had seen their necklaces before and thought they were pretty. Now that I know the meaning behind them, they are even more beautiful! Make sure you check out the Akola Project and their amazing necklaces! And if you’re feeling generous, donate to their cause here!
