In 2013, one of my new year resolutions was to take a photography class. I had taken photography in high school and really enjoyed it, but I knew that with this blog it would be important for me to continue to learn and enhance my skills (and boy do I feel like I still have a long way to go)! With my sister beside me, we attended a series of three night classes and I cannot even begin to explain how helpful and insightful they were.
This year, my goal was to take a calligraphy class. It has always been something I’ve wanted to try and I decided it was time to go for it! If you follow my instagram, you know that I was able to take my first calligraphy workshop hosted by Fullosophie and Lauren Essel just a few weeks back!
If you haven’t heard of Fullosophie yet, then you can thank me later. Fullosphie hosts workshops on everything from calligraphy, to flower arranging, to photography and more! I know, right up my alley. But not only do you get to learn a new skill, but it’s in a unique and intimate setting that creates an unforgettable experience.
I’m SO excited today because I’ve teamed up with Fullosophie, Natalie Shelton and Kelly Christine to give away one spot in their photogrpahy + editing workshop this Sunday from 2-6pm! AHH, I know! I wish I could win it myself! If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to use your camera or create beautiful images – then this class is for you! Just follow the rafflecoptor below to enter to win!
xx and good luck!
…and the winner is Chelsea Smith Torres! Congratualtions, Chelsea! Check your email : )

As you may recall from this post, one of my new year’s resolutions was to read more. And I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job so far, if I do say so myself! I’m currently reading Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. It’s quirky and comical and I’m loving every minute of it! Another recent read was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It was emotional and heartwarming and I would highly recommend it!
Have you read anything recently that I need to add to my list? I’d love suggestions!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you have an amazing day with the ones you love!
love you, mean it! xx Allison

If you know one thing about me, then you would know that I am a huge sucker for a good love story. I have a not-so-secret obsession with watching YouTube proposals and could easily spend hours watching gorgeous wedding videos I find online. (If you’re wondering, my all time fave (so far!) is this one by Paperback Weddings).
In addition to a good wedding video, I (like most girls) love a good rom-com. Today I’ve partnered with Endless Love to bring a little pre-Valentine’s Day giveaway! Get yourself Valentine’s ready with a $25 gift card to Sephora and fun Endless Love accessories!
and the winner is…. Amy Petro!!!! Check your email Amy ; )
ENDLESS LOVE stars Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) in the story of a privileged girl and a charismatic boy whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.

Dress: Maggy London c/o Jacket: Vintage (similar here and here) Shoes: Louboutin Bracelets: Stella & Dot, Hermes Ring: J.Crew Lips: YSL in Rose Culte
As much as I love to dress in theme, I tend to opt out of the traditional red or pink when it comes to getting ready for Valentine’s dinner. That said, this soft violet lace Maggy London dress is the perfect choice for something romantic and sweet, but not the slightest bit cliché. I offset the delicate detailing (a scalloped hem!) with a bold pink lip and leopard coat.
Cape: Lovers + Friends Jeans: 7 For All Mankind Sweater: Helmut Lang (similar here and here) Bag: Kate Spade
I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t sure that purchasing a cape was the smartest investment. Would I get enough use out of it to justify the purchase? Would it go with the rest of my wardrobe? The short answer: yes! This cape has proven to be a daily staple to New York and back. Surprisingly warm, I was able to navigate the snowy streets of the city. Back in Dallas, it’s an easy option during light rain while running around town.
