There is nothing more versatile than a little black dress. It can take you anywhere. You can dress it up to the nines or throw it on for a more casual girls night out. It’s all about the accessories and the attitude.
And yes, I’m fully aware I could use a tan. Is it summer yet? Happy Thursday, Y’all!

There is nothing, I repeat, nothing I love more than an easy little smock dress I can slip on and run out the door. I don’t know about you, but I would prefer a dress over jeans any day. Especially a dress that can be paired with slip-on sneakers for a casual day out, or dressed up with booties for a dinner date.
The next best thing to a great dress is a great deal. And that is exactly what you are going to get with Topshop via Nordstrom. I love that I can find pieces I know I will wear again and again and not break the bank. Literally, I can’t get enough of these crocodile slip-ons and they were only $35. Yes, you read that right. Get them while you can!
This post was sponsored by Nordstrom, but all opinions are my own.

If there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that a girl needs not one, but a few good pairs of summer sandals. I must admit, I learned this the hard way. I tend to find a pair I love, then wear them until they are unrecognizable. This year I’m breaking my bad habit and going to invest in several pairs to last me from spring through summer. I found these greek sandals and just love their simplicity. They are just what you need for a clean, everyday look!

I may be jumping the gun a bit but with another round of ice storms yesterday I couldn’t help myself but daydream about a little fun in the sun. I won’t technically be taking a “spring break” this year, but it doesn’t stop me from lusting after a warm weather wardrobe. There is nothing a love more than an easy day dress or some cute (scalloped!) sandals!

One of the things I love most about Dallas is the fact that we can have a weekend like this past one that was in the 70s in February. One of the things I hate about Dallas is it can be 70 degrees one day and 40 the next. With the weather so up and down, I feel like I’m constantly changing what I’m wearing. As sad as I was that it was cold and rainy yesterday, I couldn’t help but be a tad excited that I could pull out my new Burberry rain boots. I was a little skeptical about purchasing these studded boots as they are a bit edgier than my typical style, but I’ve literally worn them every chance I’ve had.
SALE ALERT: Don’t forget about Shopbop’s Shop & Save sale going on now! They’ve added new stuff like these snakeskin sandals and this lace top that I’m totally obsessed with. Not to mention this is the perfect time to stock up on some spring basics like these white jeans!

In 2013, one of my new year resolutions was to take a photography class. I had taken photography in high school and really enjoyed it, but I knew that with this blog it would be important for me to continue to learn and enhance my skills (and boy do I feel like I still have a long way to go)! With my sister beside me, we attended a series of three night classes and I cannot even begin to explain how helpful and insightful they were.
This year, my goal was to take a calligraphy class. It has always been something I’ve wanted to try and I decided it was time to go for it! If you follow my instagram, you know that I was able to take my first calligraphy workshop hosted by Fullosophie and Lauren Essel just a few weeks back!
If you haven’t heard of Fullosophie yet, then you can thank me later. Fullosphie hosts workshops on everything from calligraphy, to flower arranging, to photography and more! I know, right up my alley. But not only do you get to learn a new skill, but it’s in a unique and intimate setting that creates an unforgettable experience.
I’m SO excited today because I’ve teamed up with Fullosophie, Natalie Shelton and Kelly Christine to give away one spot in their photogrpahy + editing workshop this Sunday from 2-6pm! AHH, I know! I wish I could win it myself! If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to use your camera or create beautiful images – then this class is for you! Just follow the rafflecoptor below to enter to win!
xx and good luck!
…and the winner is Chelsea Smith Torres! Congratualtions, Chelsea! Check your email : )

As you may recall from this post, one of my new year’s resolutions was to read more. And I think I’ve been doing a pretty good job so far, if I do say so myself! I’m currently reading Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. It’s quirky and comical and I’m loving every minute of it! Another recent read was Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It was emotional and heartwarming and I would highly recommend it!
Have you read anything recently that I need to add to my list? I’d love suggestions!
