Y’all I think I just died a little bit and went to heaven. I am so obsessed with all of J.Crew’s new spring arrivals! I thought about giving up shopping for lent but then realized what a bad idea that was. Not only are the colors perfection, but they are all currently on SALE! Get 20% off with code SHOPPINGTIME. This mint jacket will be mine.
It may be snowing in the majority of the United States right now, but the sun is shining here in Texas and I can help but look forward to warmer spring days. With a new season approaching, I’m already looking to update my beauty routine.
It could not have been better timing that I was just introduced to Beautycounter. Their lip sheer colors are perfect for spring and I would be lying if I said the packaging didn’t get me a little excited – so chic! But what has really sold me on Beautycounter is their dedication to creating safe products. They’ve tested all their products for toxic chemicals that may be harmful and they’ve banned more than 1,500 ingredients.
Lately, I have definitely tried to focus on making sure I am taking better care of my skin. Although I am only 25, I know what I do now will affect my future and I’m trying to remember that when it comes to both my beauty and skin care. I’ll be the first to admit, I hate washing my face and it’s been one of my resolutions to start being better about it! You have to start somewhere, right?
Beautycounter also carries skin and hair care which I’m also super excited to try! For example, this nourishing balm removes makeup, cleans and moisturizes at night. It’s like they knew I needed help.
Introducing the Betty Paige!
The perfect cocktail for you and yours this Valentine’s Day!
I had the honor of attending a dinner with Woodford Reserve a few weeks ago and got to try the Betty Paige for the very first time. Created by Henry’s Majestic’s mixologist, Alex Fletcher, I found it to be the perfect mixture of masculine and feminine. It’s got the Woodford Reserve bourbon for the boys and the champagne for the girls! Mr. Fletcher was nice enough to share the recipe with y’all! Cheers!
roses are red. violets are blue. valentine’s day is coming. how cute is this shoe?
Greetings from Cabo! I’m so excited for a weekend at the beach although the weather in Dallas this past week didn’t disappoint. I loved being able to get outside, enjoy the sun and go for more walks! Do any of you use a fitness tracker? I started wearing this UP24 around Christmas and it has been fascinating. I love being able to track my steps and sleep. It sure has shown me how few steps I take a day unless I make a conscious effort to walk more.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
This past Saturday I drove to Fort Worth with a few girl friends for an afternoon of exploring. Fort Worth is so close yet somehow I never make time for the trip. After such a great day on Saturday, that won’t be happening again.
We left for the day without a concrete plan so I wanted to be sure that I wore something that could be up for any occasion. This striped dress fit the bill perfectly. I think I’ve found my new weekend staple.
We started with brunch at AF+B which set the tone for the perfect day ahead. Both the service (thanks, Brian!) and the food were impeccable. Highlights included the chorizo scotch eggs, green chili cornbread, hamburger, and smoked brisket hash. I could go on about the food but all I’ll say is that I highly suggest sharing so you can try as much as possible.
We followed brunch with a trip to The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The building, and art it housed, were both incredible. It’s not every day you see a Picasso, and a Rothko, and a Warhol…

As you all know, I am obsessed with weddings and all things related. That said, when I heard that The Big Fake Wedding was heading to Dallas for the first time, I was more than excited to attend. The Big Fake Wedding is essentially that, a big, fake wedding that’s an alternative to a bridal show. Vendors participate as if they’re providing services for a real wedding and the guests get to participate in a vow renewal, dinner and drinks, and dancing! It was so fun to meet local vendors and I left feeling so inspired. If you or a friend is engaged (or just in love with event planning, like me!) I would highly suggest you attend.
This past Saturday, I joined a few new friends for brunch at one of my all time favorites: Sissy’s Southern Kitchen. Located in the heart of Knox-Henderson, Sissy’s is truly a southern girl’s dream. We ate on their enclosed patio which is bright, sunny, and the perfect place to catch up. From the specialty cocktails to dessert, everything is superbly southern. The fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffles are just a few of the dishes you will find and love.
I’ve officially named 2015 the year of the wedding. And if you know me, you know I am not complaining! With over 10 weddings on the books so far, what better way to kick off the year than with a big fake wedding.
Yep, you read that right.
The Big Fake Wedding is a bridal show alternative complete with an actual ceremony, a tasty dinner and of course, dance-party reception. “Wedding guests” are brides-and-grooms-to-be who get to truly experience the wedding vendors in action. So fun right?
Well, good news ladies… The Big Fake Wedding is headed to Dallas next Thursday and I am so excited to be a part of the night! Even more exciting, I have two tickets to give away for the event. If this isn’t your man’s kind of party don’t worry, ’cause BFFs, sisters, and moms are also welcome!
To enter to win, all you have to do is comment below! I will be announcing the winner on Monday! I hope to see you on the dance floor! xx
AND THE WINNER IS… Ciara Chanel Wei! Congratulations, Ciara! Please send me an email for ticket information!
